2004 Murphy & Nye

by Jeroen van Dinther

The Murphy & Nye special edition was launched in Italy in the spring of 2004, in a very limited run of 110 units. All were equipped with a 1.6-liter engine producing 110 pk, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The exterior is Strato Blue, and the interior is beige, with black primarily used for the upper part of the dashboard and a portion of the doors. The soft top is also beige. Inside, in addition to the Mazda logo on the steering wheel, a Nardi logo is visible on the lower spoke. The steering wheel, handbrake lever, and gearshift lever are finished in wood.

All in all, a very attractive and rare configuration.

This version can be identified by:

  • the black-and-beige two-tone interior;
  • a beige windshield with speakers, tonneau cover, and soft top;
  • the wooden steering wheel with white piping, wooden gearshift knob, and handbrake handle;
  • a Nardi logo at the bottom of the steering wheel and on the gearshift knob;
  • silver-colored radio and matching trim in the center console and around the air vents;
  • 16-inch, 10-spoke (5×2) alloy wheels in silver paint;
  • heated seats;
  • fog lights in the front bumper;
